This blog is to display my journey through a year of foundation art & design. I'm currently doing the foundation degree at Chesterfield College and these posts all show my exploration, research, ideas and more.

Fine Art

In day two of fine art we focused on really exploring the different medias and "not inventing things" So by using paint in an explorotary way, with no plans and desired outcomes just basically going a bit crazy. This painting experiment below was done with masking tape. I randomly positioned the tape on the brown paper, went crazy with the bright coloured poster paints and then took the masking tape off to get this effect (left photo)

Unexpectedly I really loved what the pieces of masking tape looked like after. These long strips of multicoloured random paint splodges just looked so effective. So I then decided to keep these.

I think this is a great example of how going in without expectations can results in something you genuinely like.
